About Listening
“About Listening” originated as a walking meditation, during which Anne Beffel synchronized her breath with her steps. While walking, she also picked up discarded gum wrappers. Her walks began in New York City, but subsequently took place in a variety of urban and rural sites throughout the U.S. Eventually, she wrote and recorded poetry stemming from the walks.
